Out of the Blue

It's been a few very hard days both with the miscarriage and some other issues. Still, God works in His mysterious ways. An old colleague sent me an e-mail out of the blue. She has undergone some massive life changes recently and wrote the following:

"He [God] says in his strong believe me voice, "BE PATIENT MY CHILD" I am learning that things happen for reasons you just have to trust and stay strong. Instead of asking "why" say thank you for chances and opportunities then move forward with a positive attitude. I believe God places obstacles in our way to test our faith- to keep us strong. And even though these obstacles hurt it does bring you closer to each other, God and others important to you. It kind of wakes you up!"

Then a second friend, not knowing all that has been happening, said that in her prayer time the following verses were laid on her heart for me:

"He did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what He had promised." Romans 4:20-21

"...hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair..." 2 Cor. 4:8

"In your distress you called and I rescued you." Psalm 81:7a

Out of the blue is an expression meant to mean something caught you by surprised or something unexpected. These words of encouragement have helped me emerge a little stronger from my sadness and fear. They have literally lifted me out of the blue.
